What Was Early Christianity Like?

What Was Early Christianity Like? This short article highlights the three distinguishing marks of the early church were: separation from the world, unconditional love and childlike obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Gospel 101 by Paul Washer

Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

Too Heavenly Minded – No Earthly Good

I’ve been thinking. I am beginning to despise the expression ‘too heavenly/spiritually minded, no earthly good.’ Those that God has used the most in Church history were accused of being too heavenly/spiritually minded. But isn’t it amazing that God used these individuals for His greatest works? We need to tear down these speculations which have [...]

For Consider Him

Hebrews 12:3 tells us to consider Him. Consider Him for a moment before you rant on about your own selfish desires, needs, wants and ambitions. Consider Him, being in the form of God, was hung on a tree like a common criminal. I wrote this was poem several years ago and it still breaks my heart and humbles me. May the Lamb that was slain receive the rewards of His suffering.

Part 4 | The Only True God - God is Patient

Part 4 | The Only True God – God is Patient

God’s patience and longsuffering is not like ours, it is not conditional, temporal or temperamental. It is in His build up, it is who He is. It is His essence and the very nature of God. He cannot be separate from it because He is the epitome of it.

Part 8 | The Only True God – God is Holy (Part 2)

Part 8 | The Only True God – God is Holy (Part 2)

The notions most people have of God being holy is of moral purity, goodness or righteousness. Whilst these definitions certainly are true, they represent only a secondary way in which God is said to be holy. The primary and definitive thrust of the meaning that God is holy is somewhat different.

Part 5 | The Only True God – God is Wise

Part 5 | The Only True God – God is Wise

The main aim of this study is to learn about the wisdom of God. It is one of the communicable attributes of God and to show you through this teaching how wisdom of God has been manifested through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.

Part 7 | The Only True God – God is Holy (Part 1)

Part 7 | The Only True God – God is Holy (Part 1)

The holiness of God pervades the Scriptures from cover to cover. God undeniably, unashamedly and repeatedly draws attention to His own holiness. It is impossible to read the Bible and miss this piercing attribute of holiness which uniquely belongs to God. What separates Christianity from all the other religions of the world is that the God of the Bible is infinitely holy.

Part 6 | The Only True God – The Foreknowledge of God

Part 6 | The Only True God – The Foreknowledge of God

As part of the weekly Bible studies on the series of God’s attributes, we were greatly blessed to have Pastor Barry King come and teach on the Foreknowledge of God.

What Can Wash Away My Sins?

What Can Wash Away My Sins?

The other day, whilst visiting the lavatory at work, I met a research student called Mohammed. It was a rather strange experience because Mohammed was frantically washing his feet away in the sink. At first, I have to say I found it rather nauseating and asked him not to do that because a sink, the last time I remember was designed to wash hands. It was very off putting because he had pretty much stunk up the lavatory and put others off from entering.

Part 3 | The Only True God – God is Spirit

Part 3 | The Only True God – God is Spirit

The Bible declares that God is Spirit. He cannot be seen and He does not have size, weight or dimensions. Yet the Scriptures talk of God as having a gender and body parts. What does this mean?

Part 2 | The Only True God – God is Eternal

Part 2 | The Only True God – God is Eternal

Where does one even begin when touching upon the eternal nature of God? How can a time conscience being write about the timeless One? Even now, as you read this, you are limited to time to understand the One who operates outside of time.
