A Reliable Christian

Christians who ought to live contrary to the worldly principles of this age may find themselves trapped in the slavery of “UNRELIABILLITY”.
Have you ever made an appointment with someone and then forgotten about it completely or cancelled it without even giving a small thought about the time and emotions of the person you were going to meet? Have you ever made a promise which you cannot keep and deep down you knew that you should not have made that promise? Have you ever said that you will do it on time and then completely made a mess of it and made others to pay for your mistake? Have you kept someone waiting for so long, when you yourself go absolutely mad when someone makes you wait?
Oh unreliable, irresponsible and undependable Christian; is this what Christ wants us to be?
“Let your ‘Yes’ be yes and your ‘No,’ no. For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” Matthew 5:37
These are the words of Jesus Christ and He certainly wants us to be reliable. We must become reliable because Christ is reliable. Whatever He said, He said with authority and fulfilled it with authority.
One of the reasons why Jesus said all this; perhaps He knew that it would spoil our testimony amongst believers and non-believers. And if our testimony is spoiled then God can not be glorified through us.
I am writing this because I myself suffered the consequences of being unreliable and undependable. The reason I am addressing this issue because God wants me and you to be reliable Christians, so that we may glorify His name amongst those who we meet every day.
In Him Always
