“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” Philippians 3:10

This blog is simply birthed out of devotion to Christ. Nothing more and nothing less. It is not an ambitious attempt to create a following or gather attention, but simply a journal to look back and marvel at God’s grace and share that with others.

Why That I May Know Him?
When I became a Christian the Lord deeply impressed Philippians 3:10 upon my heart. I love all of God’s Word, but for some reason Philippians 3:10 became a favourite “life verse“. I realised that as a follower of Christ, God’s great goal in my life was to conform me to the image of His Son, and this verse would give me an eternity to dwell on the riches of Christ and His finished work on the cross.

One of the reasons it had such a deep impression upon me was because it was all about Him. We live in a day and age where everything seems to revolve around “me”. But this verse showed me that it was all about Him.

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death”

A Christ-less Christianity will always result in dead religion, but a Christ-centred Christianity will bring forth life, joy and faith that is pleasing to God.

Knowing the joys of His resurrection cannot be divorced from the fellowship of His sufferings. With the joys of His resurrection come the fellowship of His sufferings.

That I May Know Him – Apart from Jesus Christ you have no part with God. So to know Him, be known by Him and make Him known is the greatest pursuit you can pursue. All other pursuits ought to live in its shadow.
