The Language of False Teachers

| September 26, 2011 | 4 Comments

Every so often I flick through the channels of UK Christian television. Sometimes, very rarely, I see some God-centred, Christ honouring and Biblically saturated resources. Things which bring glory to God and edify my walk in Christ. But the sad reality is that on most occasions I have to switch it off because it vexes my spirit. Today was one of those days.

Two weeks ago, I knew nothing of John Doggett. I hadn’t even heard of his name. But today, I can say that the little I do know about him gives me reason to rejoice for the life he lived. The skills and talents this man had aquired during his life were put to good use. Indeed, a lesson for us all. I want to share a lesson learnt tonight from God’s Word. I am currently working my way through the Old Testament and have been thoroughly enjoying every moment of it. The Gospel

| April 14, 2011

The centrality of the gospel is the very person of Christ. In other words, He is the good news. The good news is not the message in and of itself, but the very person and work of Jesus Christ. As Baxter points out “”our Lord’s message was Himself.” The gospel message, whilst eternity itself will not allow us to fathom it, is the truth that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15).
