Christian TV in the UK – An Hour of Imported American Humanism

Last night I had the misfortune of watching (I shudder at the thought of calling of it Christian television, so I’ll call it religious noise) one hour of religious noise on so-called Christian television. It was embarrassing to say the least to watch these popular, much loved televangelists using every trick and gimmick in the industry to milk the gullible and vulnerable of their finances, time and hopes. It was an hour of imported, American, man-centered humanism, where man was the goal and object of everything. By the end of it, my spirit felt grieved and rather nauseous. It was cotton candy to the maximum.

The Wrath of the Lamb

We are usually presented with very faith building devotions. We are often presented a side of God which is love, kindness, mercy and peace. The phrase ‘Jesus loves you’ is a very commonly used evangelism tool because it sounds pleasant and causes little scandal. But how often do we carefully and surgically look at the full counsel of Gods character? When was the last time you picked up your Bible and asked God to reveal His Holy hatred for sin and His coming wrath?
